Introducing Daren Lowman, LMFT & CSAT
A Message from Daren
"For all of us there are times in our lives when we need help, support or guidance. Broken marriages, addictions, depression, anxiety, loss of a job or loved one, etc. bring us to the point of reaching out. There IS hope. (There is always hope).
But while we are in the relentless storm, we need the care of another. I have been there personally, and have learned that we are not meant to do life on our own.
I have been through cancer, marriage difficulties, parenting struggles, infertility, life with an alcoholic and abusive father, deaths and other traumas & losses.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (Living Bible Version)
There is Redemption, Reconciliation & Restoration.
I see it every day in my private practice: the addict that reaches 1, 2 & 5 years of sobriety ... Redemption.
The marriage devastated by an affair that in time, not only heals, but finds an intimacy they have never known ... Reconciliation.
People bound by cords of depression and anxiety now set free and experiencing joy in life ... Restoration."
DAREN’S APPROACH TO THERAPY
Daren is a Christian and is comfortable integrating faith into therapy if the client wishes.
Daren’s approach is grace-based, meaning that no matter how many times we fall or slip up, we can get back up and be forgiven and be loved just the way we are. He believes there is hope for every person, that no one is too far gone.
DAREN’S THEORETICAL ORIENTATION
Overall Daren’s treatment orientation is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
He believes that what we think greatly affects how we feel, the choices we make, and the actions we take in life.
Or in other words, if we’re thinking the wrong things or negative things, we’re probably going to feel bad and make bad choices. But if we change our thinking, we can change our life.
However, because every client is different, Daren often employs an eclectic approach that combines CBT with multiple other theoretical orientations depending on the unique makeup of the client and the particular issues being worked on in therapy.
